Entrepreneurship
Jönköping University has a distinct focus on entrepreneurship, spanning internationally leading research, relevant education and a range of other inspirational activities. In a ranking of publications of entrepreneurship research 1995-2006, the University ranks ninth globally and third in Europe*.
Centre for Family Enterprise
and Ownership
A large extent of the research within CeFEO (Centre for Family Enterprise and Ownership) is focused on entrepreneurship. One example is the research project Transgenerational Entrepreneurship, which is coordinated by Babson College and conducted in cooperation with 10 European business schools.

The International Entrepreneurship Academy, Intentac, is an international collegiate society that favours international entrepreneurship.

The word entrepreneurship is used as the ability to bring about changes – innovations. It can be done in the public or private sector, through changes in existing activities or by starting new activities, in some cases new enterprises, and it can be done by one or more people.
Jönköping International Business School and the School of Engineering focus on entrepreneurship in their first cycle study programmes. A course in entrepreneurship and business development is part of several study programmes and there are also study programmes focusing on entrepreneurship and innovation.
Jönköping International Business School has a strong research environment within entrepreneurship with the centres CISEG (Centre for Innovation Systems, Entrepreneurship and Growth), CESIS (Centre of Excellence for Science and Innovation Studies – a collaboration with KTH Royal Institute of Technology) and CeFEO (Centre for Family Enterprise and Ownership).
At the School of Education and Communication, entrepreneurship forms an important part of the renewal of pedagogy and lifelong learning. The Academy for School Related Research and Development is a collaboration between 13 municipalities, enterprises and the university and has a programme for entrepreneurial learning, SkolKraft. Encell, the national centre for lifelong learning, has a national research programme on women’s entrepreneurship.
At the School of Health Sciences knowledge of improvement work is part of all study programmes. The collaboration in the research area Quality Improvements, Innovations and Leadership includes a Master’s programme that centres on quality improvement and leadership in health care and social care.
The Jönköping Academy for Improvement of Health and Welfare is a platform for research within the research area Quality Improvements, Innovations and Leadership and is a collaboration between the University, the County Council, the municipalities in the county and Dartmouth Institute in the US, among others.
